Are you by any chance using a different package manager? I had weird issues like these and it turned to be 'bun' using pnpm worked fine

It seems like the middleware isnt running at all when I hit the api using postman.

Its also using the new Route Handlers

Interestingly, on the docs for the App Router, the middleware sections is greyed out. Maybe middleware for the App Router Route Handlers isnt implemented yet

I think its a problem with the clerk middleware actually
